AAP Slams Central Government and PM Modi For Being Omitted At All-Party Meeting on Bangladesh Crisis

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, i.e. yesterday, the central government of India called a meeting to discuss the Bangladesh crisis which was attended by the leaders of all national parties except the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party hit out at the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the omission of AAP in an all-party meeting on the Bangladesh crisis. Despite being a national party, the center did not invite AAP leaders to discuss the Bangladesh crisis. Sanjay Singh who is the Rajya Sabha MP of the Aam Aadmi Party slammed the central government and hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not inviting AAP to the all-party meeting on the Bangladesh crisis. He said that national security transcends partisan preferences and requested the PM to adopt an inclusive approach. Criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sanjay Singh added that the PM’s approach can not depend on which party he is happy or unhappy with when it is a matter of national security. He urged PM Modi to adopt an inclusive approach by taking everyone along in such a situation.

The Rajya Sabha MP of AAP also added that the Aam Aadmi Party has three MPs in the lower house and ten MPs in the upper house, AAP is a national party but ignoring all these things PM Modi did not invite AAP leaders to the all-party meeting in such a situation which shows the non-seriousness of the center and its petty mentality. However, almost all the leaders of National Parties were present at the meeting where the leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi asked the center if the government had any instinct about the role of outside forces in Bangladesh. As of now, the center is maintaining a wait-and-watch stance on the Bangladesh crisis. However, the Indian Army has been put on alert. During the all-party meeting, EAM S Jaishankar talked about the ongoing developments in Bangladesh which hundreds of people were killed in the chaos that began with a protest against reservation quotas after Bangladesh PM Sheik Hasina resigned and fled the country which can also impact India. External Affairs Minister also added that there is a possibility that an interim government will form in Bangladesh. The leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi also asked if the center had any information about Sheikh Hasina’s intentions, replying to Rahul Gandhi, S Jaishankar said India had spoken to her about her future course of action but it could not be revealed. Rahul Gandhi also raises concerns over foreign forces’ interference in Bangladesh, particularly China, while pointing out the safety of minorities in Bangladesh like Hindus.
